Dissociatie bij kinderen en adolescenten wordt  nog vaak over het hoofd gezien, terwijl in werkelijkheid duizenden kinderen lijden onder  de naweeën van complex trauma. Dit heeft een  negatieve invloed op hun zelfgevoel, hun  cognitief functioneren en al hun  interpersoonlijke relaties. Deze complexe  manier van functioneren is vaak resistent tegen  reguliere therapie. Deze training biedt daarom  praktische strategieën en technieken om als  therapeut diagnostisch en therapeutisch aan  de slag te kunnen gaan met deze kinderen en  jongeren. Renée Marks werkt als Consultant Therapeut en  Clinical Lead bij Integrate Families in het noorden  van Engeland. Integrate Families is het Nationale  Centrum voor Kinderen met Complex Trauma en  Dissociatie. Renée is een inspirerende en klinisch  onderlegde trainer (nationaal en internationaal) op  het gebied van hechting, emotieregulatie, complex  trauma en dissociatie bij kinderen en adolescenten. 

De training (in het Engels) omvat: 

‣ Online theoretische cursus: 8 modules 

‣ Online supervisies in gesloten groep: 8 x 2u. 

‣ Twee Archive Days met Renée Potgieter in  België (lunch inbegrepen) 

Start : januari 2022

Hoe werkt het? 

Je schrijft je in bij BIP (opgelet, je bent pas ingeschreven als je het volledige bedrag hebt  betaald).

Je begint in januari met de online video- en presentatie-inhoud. 

Tijdens de online theoretische cursus leer je over de geschiedenis en de theorie van trauma en dissociatie, de eerste fasen van de diagnostiek, veiligheid en stabilisatie, voorbereiding van de behandeling, behandeling, Dader Introject, EMDR, pre-birth trauma. 

Online groepssupervisies:  Schrijf je in voor de 8 klinische casusbesprekingen die in je cursus zijn opgenomen.  

Er zijn 3 groepen per vastgelegde datum. 

Voorziene data: 11/03/22, 06/05/22, 24/06/22, 02/09/22, 18/11/22, 13/01/23, 03/03/23, 31/03/23) 

Je woont 2 live Archive Days bij met Renée Marks om verschillende video-voorbeelden en  praktische toepassingen van diagnostiek en behandeling te zien.

Voorziene data: 21-22 /04 /2023 

De cursus loopt over een periode van 16 maanden. 

Verwacht minimaal 6 uur per maand aan cursusmateriaal te besteden. 

Voorwaarde tot deelname: 

je bent klinisch psycholoog, psychiater, klinisch orthopedagoog of je hebt een bachelor in humane wetenschappen en een langdurige psychotherapeutische opleiding en bent  psychotherapeutisch actief in het werkveld van kinderen en jongeren.  Je hebt een uitgesproken interesse voor psychotrauma.  

Een EMDR-opleiding gevolgd hebben of hiermee bezig zijn is een meerwaarde maar de training  biedt meer dan dit en kan een uitnodiging zijn om in een later stadium een EMDR-opleiding te  volgen.

BELANGRIJKE INFORMATIE 

Deze training is competentiegericht en van elke deelnemer wordt verwacht dat hij of zij aan de slag  gaat met een kind/jongere dat/die ingrijpende gebeurtenissen heeft meegemaakt en aan  traumagerelateerde en/of dissociatieve symptomen lijdt.

Tijdens de groepssupervisies is er tijd voor vragen en antwoorden. 

De doelstellingen van deze training zijn om de deelnemers te voorzien van: 

- De achtergrondinformatie die nodig is om een goed begrip te krijgen van dissociatie bij kinderen  en jongeren. 

- Beoordelingsinstrumenten om de reeds bestaande diagnostiek bij kinderen en jongeren met  trauma en dissociatieve symptomen te verbeteren. 

- Inzicht in de psycho-educatie die nodig is om dissociatie voor het kind/de jongere te verduidelijken en hen te helpen hun interne ervaringen beter te begrijpen o.a. door het gebruik van metaforen. 

- Informatie over hoe dissociatie zich manifesteert bij verschillende kinderen/jongeren en hoe  hiermee aan de slag te gaan. 

- Praktijkvoorbeelden a.d.h.v. tekeningen, zandspel en video’s om te illustreren hoe effectieve  therapie bij kinderen/jongeren met een dissociatieproblematiek eruit kan zien alsook welke  instrumenten hierbij gebruikt kunnen worden. 

- Praktische voorbeelden van hoe EMDR/bilaterale stimulatie bij deze populatie doeltreffend gebruikt kan worden in het kader van traumaverwerking. 

- Kennis over hoe te werken met Dader Introjects (gewelddadig, agressief en seksueel gedrag). 

- Een uitgebreid begrip van hoe naar integratie toe te werken

Dissociation in children and adolescents is often overlooked, yet in reality thousands of children suffer from the aftermath of complex trauma. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This training is competency based and each participant is expected to work with a child/young person who has experienced significant events and suffers from trauma-related and/or dissociative symptoms.

During the group supervision there will be time for questions and answers.

The objectives of this training are to provide participants with:

- The background information needed to gain a good understanding of dissociation in children and adolescents.

- Assessment tools to improve already existing diagnostics in children and adolescents with trauma and dissociative symptoms.

- Insight into the psychoeducation needed to clarify dissociation for the child/young person and to help them better understand their internal experiences, including through the use of metaphors.

- Information on how dissociation manifests itself in different children/young people and how to deal with it.

- Practical examples using drawings, sand play and videos to illustrate what effective therapy for children/young people with dissociation problems can look like and what tools can be used.

- Practical examples of how EMDR/bilateral stimulation can be used effectively with this population in the context of trauma treatment.

- Knowledge of how to work with Offender Introjects (violent, aggressive and sexual behaviour).

- A comprehensive understanding of how to work towards integration.
